Hey lovely Reader
Have you ever had a feeling the universe was playing a tiny little trick on you?
You might have called it a coincidence, or happenstance (I doubt anyone actually calls it that but it is a wonderful word). Whatever we call it, sometimes it just feels as though we're being presented with the very thing we're here to learn... or in this instance, teach.
On Friday I co-hosted a free workshop on the nervous system at work with my lovely colleague Grace.
Just as we were about to begin, her camera stopped working. I could hear her, I couldn't see her - it was all a bit tense. We had people ready to enter the Zoom room... and an invisible Grace. Cue technical shenanigans, some sweaty palms and laughter.
It was a perfect demonstration of the very thing we were there to teach... how to stay calm when your nervous system has been hijacked.
What was also wonderful to see was how the same techniques we shared with the group helped settle our own nervous systems. This stuff works. In real life. Always good to have these reminders...
In the podcast episode today I share some of this story plus three simple techniques for vagal toning that came up in today's event. And I leave you with a question: what nourishes you?
This link will take you straight to the episode (listen or watch) or just search the Henny Flynn podcast.
May we all be safe, happy and well. May we all find what is truly nourishing.
With love
PS: If you're curious to know more about the nervous system at work, Grace and I are running a four-week course to go deeper, starting Thursday 5 November, 12:00 to 1:15pm, all about understanding the language of your own nervous system.
