Hey lovely Reader
When you think about the idea of 'beginning again' what comes up?
Our experiences in life, our family system, the culture we're born into, they will all inform how this phrase lands within us.
- We might have learned that we just have to grit our teeth and keep ploughing forward...
- We might believe that beginning again is a form of weakness - an admission that something has failed.
- We might sense an uncomfortable vulnerability in adopting the 'Zen beginners mind'
And/or...
- Maybe you have your own lived experience of beginning again?
- Maybe learning you can begin again taught you something simple and profound?
- Maybe beginning again with something in your life helped you move forward in ways you could never have imagined?
This idea of our ability to begin again informs this weekend's episode of the podcast. As ever, you can find it on the Henny Flynn podcast. In the episode I share a Sharon Salzberg quote I love:
'We can always begin again, no matter what happens, no matter how long it's been, no matter how far from our aspirations we may have strayed.'
For me, this is so filled with hope. It seems to speak to a deep resilience that we may find is within us all.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on what resonates.
May we all be safe and well and happy. May we all sense our innate resilience, held in compassion and hope.
With love
PS: I'm delighted to share we have a new date for Nourish Your Nervous System - Saturday 6 June - an insightful online day retreat.
Have you ever noticed how differently you can feel throughout the day? Calm and connected one moment, wired and on edge the next - or suddenly flat and withdrawn, wanting to disappear. This day is an invitation to understand why that happens, and what can help...
