'Tis the season to be...
Hey lovely Reader
When you think about Christmas and the coming holiday season, what arises for you?
I'm so thoughtful about all the different responses we can have - maybe one strong feeling... or maybe many apparently opposing feelings simultaneously.
As a child, I loved Christmas: a big noisy family, foods we didn't usually have, wrapping paper everywhere. And. As the adult I am now, I recognise there could also be tension, tears, disappointment and unease at times.
Just as with so many of our, oh-so-human, experiences, these rituals and gatherings and planned celebrations can be complicated, multi-faceted and multi-layered.
So how do we honour what we need? How do we honour the traditions of our community and family system... and stay true to ourselves?
If this is something you'd love explore, you may love this next event:
Monday 15 December, 7-8pm, on-line
This is offered freely to everyone in this community. Find out more here.
And because this is the season of giving, I wanted to share a few thoughtful options for gifts too. I’ve often been hesitant about talking too much about these things - and yet heartfelt gifts can be such a beautiful way to deepen connection.
Below, you’ll find compassionate books, the LoveWords inner oracle cards, and of course A piece of quiet - all gentle ways of widening the ripples of compassion that flow from this inner work.
I hope you are well and happy and safe and at ease. And I hope this season brings you - and all of us - a little more peace.
With love
P.S. If you’re thinking about a few different gifts, just drop me a note. I can bundle everything together in one order for you — easier for you, and could be less postage too. And if you’d like guidance choosing something for someone you love, I'd be happy to help.
