Hey lovely Reader A little while ago I promised to share the story of everyday ♡ compassion - a tale of a garden centre, a whooshing and a sudden realisation. And, as we're now a little way on from sending that very first (almost) daily message of love out into the world, today feels like the day. If you've ever watched Elizabeth Gilbert's TED talk on the elusive nature of creativity then some of this may feel a little familiar. To be honest, it's the first time I've ever experienced anything like it so, for me, it felt: bizarre, brilliant, beautiful - all in equal measure. I was on my way home from the garden centre... as a way of starting a story I think that needs some work, but this is a true story and so... I was on my home from the garden centre, happily driving along a pretty road, with some trees and grass and white lines, all the usual stuff. When, out of the blue, came the strangest sensation. I suddenly felt like I was driving through something. There was nothing tangible there, nothing I could name or point to or clearly describe, except to say, it felt like I was whooshing through a cloud, or some kind of gassy mist, or a (I love this word) miasma of some kind. Or, rather - and this definitely feels more true: it was whooshing through me. And then, pop. It was gone. And I was left with two things:
Writing these little messages has been a little like writing the My darling girl poems - they land, and if I'm lucky I catch them in time to jot them down. Sharing them has also been a little like sharing the My darling girl poems - a mix of fear, tenderness and trust. I really hope you're enjoying receiving them AND I am SO grateful for all the messages I've received about them. They've made me smile and laugh and some have made me cry. Thank you. I'm also SO aware that this kind of stuff may not be everyone's cup of tea! If they're not yours (cup of tea, that is), and you want to stop receiving these (almost) daily messages of love, just click here. You'll never receive another one but we'll still stay connected, which (speaking personally) would be lovely. Sending so much love, always PS: If you love them, and there are others you think would love them too, please do share them ♡ PPS: Of course, if you unsubscribed from them by mistake or you want to take another look please click here. PPS: And - if you've had your own experience of the whooshing miasma (or whatever your version of that is), I'd LOVE to hear from you!
