Opening the door to the temple
Hey lovely Reader
Welcome to this quiet reflection on the intertwined nature of grief and belief.
There's something about the alliteration of these two words that I enjoy (aren't words wonderful things?) and... for me, there is a relationship between them that I find beautiful to explore.
It's important to say too that this isn't about belief in a formalised religion sense (though it can mean that, if that's right for you). Rather, I mean how we can have a belief in something 'other' - out beyond our individual Self, where we sense our interconnectivity with all things.
In this stream-of-consciousness episode, I explore:
- The many ways grief can show up - from loss of loved ones to the living grief of change or unrealised dreams
- Stillness as a doorway into the temple - whether we see that as stepping into our grief, or allowing our grief to enter within
- Belief as a gentle trust in our deep interconnection - within ourselves, between each other and with something other
- The comfort that comes when we remember we’re not alone but part of something vast and whole
- The love that sits quietly inside it all
Today's episode comes with an invitation to sit with what is - the ache, the beauty, and our capacity to hold it all with tenderness. And, there's an invitation to connect - whether that's about what you'd love more of, or something in this episode that resonates deep within you.

May you and your loved ones be safe, happy and well. May we all live with ease. May we all open the door to the temple*.
With love
PS: In a rather sudden, slightly random decision, I've turned this stream-of-consciousness reflection into my very first Substack post. I've been torn about joining Substack - but this piece seemed to want to go on there, so I've trusted that. If you prefer reading to listening, or you like to do both, you can find it here.
