Hey lovely Reader
Over the past few weeks, a theme has been emerging in the podcast - one that seems resonant with many I speak with, and it can feel tender: how we navigate fear.
This week, I found myself reflecting on self-compassion as a quiet but deeply transformative way through challenging times. And a quote from Dr. Kristin Neff landed with me:
"One of the most pervasive findings of the research literature is that self-compassion leads to authenticity, because when we aren't dependent on the approval of others for our self-worth, we are free to express our true selves."
That’s really what this episode is about. The connection between self-compassion, authenticity, and our ability to hold our own hand - especially when things feel uncertain.
Self-Compassion, Authenticity and Holding Our Own Hand (S16E5)
I share my own recent experience of moving through a difficult time, the tools that help me stay present, and a My Darling Girl poem that emerged from my journal in the midst of it all.
This is an episode for anyone who's ever experienced complex inner feelings. It doesn't give answers or solutions - only you can find your own way through - but I hope it offers some comfort, kindness and a sense of connection.
May you be happy, safe and well. May you live with ease.
With love
