A Tender Practice for Mother's Day (S16E7)

Hey lovely Reader

So, we're diving straight into this one... Mother’s Day can feel complicated.

While the world is full of cards and flowers, many of us are carrying something else - grief, distance, mixed emotions, or tender memories.

In this week’s podcast episode, I’m exploring what's often left unsaid - and sharing a practice that can bring comfort when things feel challenging: writing an unsent letter of love.

Whether your relationship with your mother is full of warmth, woven with complexity, or shaped by absence, this gentle act of writing can offer a kind of healing that doesn’t require anything to be fixed or resolved. It simply asks us to bring compassion to what’s true for us.

Letters of Love: Navigating the Tenderness of Mother’s Day (S16E7)

I also read an extract from Letters of Love. You'll hear it sparks my emotion. And I share a beautiful piece from My Darling Girl, a reminder we are the constant thread through our own life.

If this episode speaks to you, I hope you’ll find a quiet moment to settle in and listen.

May you be happy, safe and well. May today be filled with ease.

With love

PS: Just a couple of weeks before we begin our live course: Connect with Your Hopes and Dreams: A 5-Week Journaling & Coaching Journey. We begin 17 April - I'd love you to join us.

Recent reflections on the podcast

"I was really struck by the thought that as we open the door we’re mindful to who we’re letting in … so we should be mindful of who we’re letting in energetically to ourselves. Can’t quite capture your words, but they really struck a chord."

"Hey Henny your podcast to me is my absolute favourite because it induces calm And safety in a world that is often the antithesis or certainly the inner workings of my mind are that. This message came at the perfect time when I battle with ideas of should in terms of busyness and rest. Yet my body regularly shows me its struggle."

"henny oh my goodness I literally can not believe how spot on your last 2 episodes have been everything that’s in my mind! You articulate exactly how I’ve been feeling. And Aisling recently I think was the one with dark night of the soul. Utterly amazing. AGAIN I’m 50 this year and feel after decades of work, I’m awakened and see everything clearly. The pain beyond anything u think u can survive and yet we have. It’s so beautiful xxxx thank u, I’m still listening xxx"
